Every transshipment quote rests on real-time prices. Desks used to buy that visibility through commercial terminals, where per-seat annual fees start in the tens of thousands of dollars — the more you use, the more you pay, and smaller desks simply could not afford full coverage.
SNSUC's data API takes a different path: Brent, WTI, six FX pairs and thirteen categories stream through an interface, and members subscribe by call volume. Desks stop paying for idle seats and pay only for the quotes they actually pull; cost elasticity returns.
For SNSUC it also forms a two-way loop between trade and data: real trades and listed prices from the trading side feed the data side, which streams live quotes back to member desks. Data moves from a cost center to a billable asset.
The arithmetic is clear. A ten-person desk that swaps three terminal seats for API subscriptions can save a year's seat fees equal to several STS anchorage handling charges. The money saved on the data bill flows straight into transshipment margin.
