On-chain electronic bills of lading let smart-contract escrow replace a quarter of the letter-of-credit flow
A single transshipment shipment clears several letters of credit, and both bank fees and transit time eat into margin. Hashing the bill of lading on-chain and running escrow through a smart contract releases payment automatically once destination inspection passes, cutting settlement from T+7 to T+1 and stripping out a large share of per-deal bank charges.
