Tight physical barrels narrow sour-crude discounts to Brent; Dubai-Oman premium divergence and freight, not FX, decide the delivered ranking of ESPO, Dubai and Oman.
EUR/CNY fell to 7.4284 and EUR/USD to 1.1158, both weak at once points to euro pressure; back-to-back structures that buy in euros and sell title in dollars see margin trimmed, so dropping the dollar leg for CIPS euro direct clearing is the steadier path.
The dollar fell against the yuan at 6.6558, the yen at 157.53 and the won at 1333.08; the euro slipped to 1.1158.
USD/CNY slid to 6.6529, USD/JPY to 157.25 and USD/KRW to 1334.18 in unison, with EUR/USD above 1.1197; transfer landed costs reprice by currency and CIPS direct clearing sheds the USD leg.
USD/CNY closes at 6.6612, another 0.042 softer; EUR/USD at 1.1182 up 0.0895; USD/JPY 157.88 ticks up while USD/KRW 1,337.08 falls, a stronger won. Delivered local-currency cost reprices.
Brazil's Lula and the US Gulf sail long-haul to Asia while the Middle East is short-haul. VLCC time-charter rates and STS transshipment costs at Fujairah/Sohar are redrawing the landed-cost ranking of the seven transshipment grades - ESPO, Dubai, Oman, Urals, Basrah Light, Bonny Light and Lula.
The yuan firmed to 6.6613 and the won to 1,335.45 while the yen held at 157.86 and the euro fell to 7.4164 against the yuan; currency mismatch reprices the transshipment book and CIPS direct clearing sheds the dollar leg.
The dollar fell to 6.662 RMB, 1,332.93 won and 157.74 yen together; local appreciation trims converted landed cost.
USD/KRW rose 1.0292 to 1,339.94, a won weakness of more than 1% in a day; over the same session USD/JPY at 158.17 also saw a softer yen, while USD/CNY at 6.6661 showed a stronger yuan. With three Northeast Asian currencies diverging, Korean refiners' dollar-denominated crude books and Busan's relative bunkering edge need a fresh calculation.
EUR/CNY at 7.4221 (+0.0742) and EUR/USD at 1.1136 weaken the euro, lowering RMB landed cost of euro-priced transshipment; CIPS euro direct clearing drops the dollar leg, T+2 to T+1.
USD/CNY 6.6667 with RMB firming, while USD/JPY 157.92 and USD/KRW 1,338.61 weakened; the same Middle East cargo shows different local delivered prices in Korea and China.
The euro weakened against both the yuan and the dollar, lightening European refiners' dollar crude bill; firmer Asian currencies retook the price edge.
USD/JPY 157.87 and USD/KRW 1326.24 weaken vs the dollar while USD/CNY 6.6675 firms; the yen funding leg gets dearer, and USD/JPY above 158 triggers a transshipment funding-currency switch.
The dollar eased, with USD/CNY at 6.6675 (RMB up 255 pips), USD/JPY at 157.7 (yen softer) and USD/KRW at 1325.9 (won marginally weaker). The three currency lines point different ways, so transshipment landed cost in local currency needs a line-by-line re-computation.
USD/CNY at 6.668 (yuan firmer), USD/KRW at 1323.18 (won firmer) and USD/JPY at 157.24 (yen softer) moved in three different directions. Northeast Asian refiners recompute delivered cost per currency, and Asian buyers rebalance their price edge against Europe.
USD/CNY printed 6.6683 (-0.0285), with the yuan firming against the dollar. Yet USD/JPY rose to 157.48 and USD/KRW to 1325.0 as the yen and won both weakened against the dollar, while the euro softened to 7.4548 versus the yuan. The one-strong, three-weak split forces a fresh repricing of the currency mismatch in crude transfer books.
USD/CNY at 6.6680 strengthens the yuan; USD/JPY at 157.32 weakens the yen; USD/KRW at 1323.71 is flat-soft; price by currency.
The delivered cost of SNSUC's seven crude re-export lines (ESPO/Dubai/Oman/Urals/Basrah Light/Bonny Light/Lula) was repriced today by freight and war-risk premiums across the Hormuz and Red Sea chokepoints. STS anchorage (Fujairah/Sohar) transshipment cost is becoming a heavier variable in re-export margins.
FX split three ways today: the RMB firmed to 6.6704 and the won strengthened to 1,323.2, while the euro weakened to 7.469 vs RMB and 1.1202 vs USD. The same dollar-priced barrel costs Asian (CNY/KRW) buyers less than European (EUR) buyers, tilting the bidding for ESPO and Lula cargoes toward Northeast Asia.
USD/CNY 6.6704 (-0.039), USD/JPY 156.86 (+0.06), USD/KRW 1,323.2 (-0.13) and EUR/USD 1.1202 (-0.13). With the dollar soft, CIF costs denominated in CNY, JPY and KRW must be re-run on the new rates.
USD/CNY 6.6704 (-0.039) and USD/KRW 1323.2 (-0.1253) both fell, with CNY and KRW firming against the dollar together. USD/JPY 156.86 (+0.0638) and EUR/CNY 7.469 (-0.2111) moved the other way. The two-bloc split lifts and cuts delivered local-currency costs across Northeast Asia; CIPS direct clearing and NDF euro-leg hedges become mandatory.
USD/CNY fell to 6.6702 and USD/JPY to 156.41; a stronger yuan and yen directly cut transshipment delivered cost in local currency while Korea held flat.
USD/CNY at 6.6745, USD/JPY at 157.01 and USD/KRW at 1323.7 all weakened together, a broad dollar softness against three Asian currencies, yet EUR/USD at 1.1199 and EUR/CNY at 7.471 fell in tandem — the euro is the laggard. Northeast Asia's delivered pricing regains an edge over Europe, where refinery energy cost is pushed up.
EUR/CNY at 7.4865 and EUR/USD at 1.1222 both slipped as the euro softened on its own; CIPS euro direct-clearing replaces the two-step dollar route, pulling settlement from T+2 to T+1.
USD/CNY fell to 6.6745, EUR/USD rose to 1.1251, and USD/JPY and USD/KRW both eased, leaving a cushion on landed cost as home currencies firm.
USD/CNY at 6.676 (-0.0225), USD/JPY at 158.12 (-0.019) and USD/KRW at 1326.94 (+0.0467); the three currencies no longer move together. A firmer yuan lowers the RMB landed cost of dollar crude, while a slightly weaker won raises South Korean refiners' import bills, reshuffling the Northeast Asian buyer ranking.
EUR/CNY closed at 7.4940 (-1.51%) and EUR/USD at 1.1229 (-0.47%), making the euro the weakest major currency of the session. Euro-denominated transfer landed costs need a re-price; CIPS direct euro clearing drops the dollar leg, and NDFs can lock the euro exposure.
USD/CNY 6.6760, USD/KRW 1324.13 and USD/JPY 158.07 all eased; dollar-quoted landed cargoes cost less in local currency and locked orders reprice to the new rates.
Today USD/JPY at 158.22, USD/KRW at 1,327.1 and USD/CNY at 6.679 all firmed against the dollar — yen, won and yuan strengthening in step — while the euro also rose (EUR/USD 1.123, EUR/CNY 7.499). Dollar-denominated commodities get a bid, and North-East Asian refiners are repricing landed and energy costs currency by currency.
The dollar fell against the yuan, yen and won, yet the euro weakened against both the dollar and the yuan. A stronger yuan cut the yuan-equivalent arrival cost of dollar crude by about 8 yuan/bbl, handing Asian buyers back an edge over European refiners.
EUR/CNY at 7.4851 (-0.0521) and EUR/USD at 1.1211 (-0.0357) both soften, forcing a local-currency recompute on EUR-settled transshipment contracts. CIPS euro direct clearing bypasses the dollar leg and the EUR/USD spread, pulling settlement from T+2 to T+1.
USD/CNY at 6.6792 (yuan firmer), USD/KRW at 1,326.7 (won firmer), USD/JPY at 158.12 (yen flat). A softer dollar lowers delivered cost in yuan and won, so the FX lock points on the transshipment book need re-setting.
The dollar firmed to 158.36 against the yen but eased to 1,329.4 against the won — Asian currencies no longer move together. On a USD-denominated transfer contract the won leg gets cheaper and the yen leg dearer; CIPS direct clearing plus NDFs hold the exposure down.
USD/CNY fell to 6.6821, the yuan up 479 pips; USD/KRW eased to 1,331.0, the won up 25.85 pips. The local-currency leg of the delivered matrix is restated.
EUR/USD at 1.1239 and EUR/CNY at 7.5119 make euro-priced crude dearer; SNSUC re-runs the currency exposure on euro-settled transshipment parcels.
USD/CNY slid to 6.6870 (−0.0493) and USD/KRW to 1333.58 (−0.6037) as the yuan and won firmed together against the dollar, while USD/JPY held at 157.99. For books that buy in USD and sell in local currency, local-currency strength directly widens delivered margin; CIPS direct clearing drops the USD leg and NDFs cap the residual exposure.
USD/CNY fell to 6.6870 and USD/KRW to 1333.58 as yuan and won firmed; USD/JPY held at 157.99. Delivered CNY cost eases and quotes must use the bill-of-lading rate.
USD/CNY at 6.687, USD/JPY at 157.99, USD/KRW at 1,333.58 and EUR/USD at 1.1239. Brent's $3.78 jump offset the yuan-driven dip in landed cost.
On Oct 16 USD/JPY printed 158.12 (+0.09%) and USD/KRW 1346.41 (+0.35%), both firmer, while USD/CNY held at 6.6919 (+0.02%), barely moved. Asia's currencies split against the dollar. Transfer chains that buy in dollars and resell into Japan and Korea now face a currency-mismatch repricing.
USD/CNY at 6.6973 leaves the yuan marginally softer, USD/JPY at 158.72 keeps the yen weak, and USD/KRW at 1,338.7 shows the won firming — arrival cost moves in mixed directions.
The yen firmed, the won weakened and the RMB softened slightly; Northeast Asian refiners must re-price dollar books currency by currency.
Euro stronger on both crosses; yen up, won down in northeast Asia, delivered pricing must pin three currencies.
With EUR/CNY at 7.4805 and EUR/USD at 1.1175, euro-denominated resale landed costs need a reset; CIPS euro direct clearing drops the dollar leg.
USD/CNY rose to 6.6943 and USD/KRW to 1337.61 as the yuan and won weakened; EUR/USD climbed to 1.118 and USD/JPY fell to 158.08 as the euro and yen firmed. SNSUC's dollar-denominated crude purchases see their CNY landed cost reset.
USD/CNY eased to 6.6929, with the yuan gaining about 0.16% against the dollar on the day. At Brent $104.595, SNSUC's listing formula puts the crude landed base at roughly ¥5,131/t, visibly lower than a week earlier. Re-export deals are quoted in dollars and settled in yuan, so a softer exchange rate passively widens the margin.
USD/CNY fell to 6.6929 as the yuan firmed while USD/JPY climbed to 158.31 with the yen weaker; SNSUC's daily landed-cost sheet breaks out by currency and the FX gap must be sized before the LC opens.
